Ecosan stakeholders training workshop

Edited by Trevor Surridge (GIZ). Information was provided by Moses Wakala.

An Ecosan stakeholder training workshop was held on the 25th March 2011 in Kakamega at the Lake Victoria North Water Services Board (LVNWSB). It was organised and conducted by the company of Ecosanity (Moses Wakala wakala.gtz@gmail.com) in conjunction with the Western Water Company.  The workshop was well attended with Local Leaders, Political Leaders, Public Health Officers, teachers, members of the Ministry of Education, Provincial Administration and Lake Victoria North Water Services Board staff in attendance.

A number of PowerPoint presentations were given to the workshop attendants and each of these presentations was followed by a group discussion. The training was deemed to be a success by the facilitators who said that the Ecosan technology was embraced and that it could be offered as a Sanitation alternative to the local communities.
